IT WAS to be expected - following the announcement of the iPad 2, many Malaysians In.Tech spoke to are eager to get their hands on Apple's latest Tablet device.
PUMPED: Sam is excited at the prospect of using FaceTime on the iPad 2.
Twenty-five-year-old Wong Li-Jian said he's very interested in purchasing the iPad 2 and would even go to Singapore to get it should it be released there before it reaches our shores.
"I held back on buying the first iPad as I found it to be too bulky to carry around," said Wong, who is an information management system officer.
"Considering that the latest version is slimmer and lighter and has a faster processor, it does makes for a very compelling buy," he said.
However Wong said he's actually planning to buy the iPad 2 as a gift for his father.
"To be honest, the iPad isn't the device for me as I don't like having to carry a big device around, but it is great for home usage. If I want to surf while on the go I will just use my iPhone 4," he added.
Photographer, Geh Chee Minh, 27 said he's stoked to get the iPad 2 and has been waiting to own one since last year.
"The iPad 2 will definitely be useful to me as it is a lightweight and convenient device that I can use to show clients my portfolio," Geh said.
STOKED: Geh hopes to purchase the iPad 2 when he is overseas.
Morever he added that the improved processor on the iPad 2 will definitely come in handy for managing and editing photos when he's out on a photo shoot.
"I'm also doing some experimentation on video recording, using both my Canon DSLR and iPhone 4, so the inclusion of iMovie for the iPad will make it really useful for editing videos," he said.
Christopher Sam, 23 said he is looking forward to using the iPad 2 as a business tool for presenting ideas to clients and videoconference over FaceTime.
The marketing executive at a car spa said the iPad is just the right tool for him to show clients the before-and-after photos of cars once they have been detailed.
"However I was disappointed when I heard the display was the same as I was hoping the iPad 2 would have an improved high resolution display," he said.
Aside from that minor complaint, Sam said that the iPad 2 is everything he wants in a tablet device.
"Considering it is priced similarly to last year's model but with improved features, I would consider buying it on launch day," he said.
