A comfy wireless headset

Logitech's Wireless Headset does a decent job when you use it with intended devices like Tablets and smartphones.

DON'T you just hate it when you take out your headphones and find that the wires are all tangled up? We know the feeling all too well and are frankly tired of unwinding our headphone wires time and again.

The solution: a Bluetooth headset. But Bluetooth headphones are relatively few and not easy to come by, and most don't offer a great audio experience for anything other than voice.

Enter Logitech's Wireless Headset, a cool pair of stereo Bluetooth headphones that not only works as headset for voice calls but also for listening to music and watching videos.

CONVENIENT: The headset has a nice fold-up design that makes it easy to carry when traveling.

Compact design

Compact, lightweight and comfortable are some words that best describe the Wireless Headset.

It has a convenient fold-up design that allows users to tuck in the headband, just like how you would fold a pair of glasses. This makes it easy to stow away for travel.

The cushioned ear pieces are soft and are easy on the ears when worn. Logitech has kept controls on the Wireless Headset simple - the on/off switch, mute and volume controls are all placed on the right headset.

The Wireless Headset looks less like something used in a call centre and more like a regular pair of music headphones thanks to its flexible built-in microphone that can be hidden by rotating it behind the headband when it's not in use.

NICE FEATURE: The microphone folds back nicely behind the headband so you can use it like a regular pair of stereo Bluetooth headphones.

The only real downside to the headset is that it feels cheap largely due to the plastic materials used.

In use

Users hoping for stellar voice and audio quality may come away a little disappointed by the headset's performance.

While the headset can pick up voices just fine, thanks to its noise-cancellation enhanced microphone, the headphones lack power and volume. So while it has noise cancellation, it is still not suited for receiving voice calls in a noisy environment as the maximum volume is soft.

Granted, it's not too soft to the point that you need to strain to make out words but we wished that we could turn the volume up by just a little.

In this case, it's better suited for indoor use when you are, say, resting on your couch and using your Tablet device or mobile phone.

While music sounded clear on the headset, it lacked the power and tonal range of a dedicated pair of headphones.

We found the midrange to be decent though the treble comes off too harshly, while the bass sounds swept underneath the song and almost can't be heard.

For casual gaming on your iOS device, whether it is playing Infinity Blade II or Modern Combat, the Wireless Headset does a good job at wrapping your head around the feeling of being inside the game world.

However, when it comes to voice chatting during PC or consoles game sessions, the Wireless Headset doesn't provide the same audio performance as that of a dedicated gaming headset.

Likewise, if you are thinking of using the Wireless Headset for voice chatting while playing games on your PC or console, you may want to consider a non-Bluetooth type headset or a dedicated pair of gaming headphones.

We had pretty good mileage out of the headset as it lasted us a good five and a half hours of continuous use.

The battery should last you well within a regular day of use on a commute to work and back though it is too short for a long haul flight.

Conclusion

All in all, the Logitech Wireless Headset is a comfortable headset that frees users from managing messy wires. Its lightweight and travel-friendly design makes it a great accessory to have around when you are on the go.

Where the headset succeeds is when you're using it with intended devices like Tablets and smartphones.

The sound quality is acceptable for light music listening and mobile games, but it won't hold up as a headset for voice chatting while playing a PC or console game.

Pros: Convenient fold-up design for travel; good for casual listening on mobile devices; decent audio performance.

Cons: Cheap build quality; volume is soft; not good for voice chats during games.
