Plantronics has launched two Bluetooth headsets with interesting interactive features.
The Voyager Legend has three microphones for better audio clarity and differentiating a person's voice from wind noise and other background disturbances.
Its Smart Call Routing feature uses sensors to automatically redirect calls to the headset whenever it is worn by the user. If it's removed halfway through a conversation, audio output will be immediately directed back to the user's phone.
It understands voice commands such as Answer or Ignore, and can be asked to relay information such as battery level and connection status. The headset can also announce the name of the caller.
In addition, owners of the device are assured of protection against moisture, as it's coated with an invisible nano-coating.
Meanwhile, the Marque 2 (M165) has a matte finish and a more compact design. It weighs a mere 7g.
Two microphones have been embedded in the device to provide improved audio quality through noise cancellation.
Its A2DP function allows a user to enjoy listening to music, Internet radio or GPS directions. The headset offers seven hours of talk time and has a Deep Sleep mode which allows the device to be on standby for up to 180 days.
Smartphone apps such as Find MyHeadset and Instant Meeting can be downloaded to enjoy additional features.
Find MyHeadset, available for Android devices, helps users locate the headset by making it emit a tone or by displaying the last date, time and location that the headset was used.
Instant Meeting, available for Android, Blackberry, iPhone, Microsoft Lync and Skype, enables single-button access to conference calls.
The Voyager Legend costs RM399 while the Marque 2 goes for RM279. Both headphones are expected to be available starting this month. - SUSANNA KHOO
