A faster reader from Kingston

KINGSTON has released the third generation of its MobileLite portable card reader family, which it aptly calls G3.

It supports the latest USB 3.0 standard that promises data transfer speeds that are up to 10 times faster than the USB 2.0 standard that has been around for the past 10 years.

To take advantage of it, your PC and the transfer cable must be USB3.0 certified, otherwise the connection is only as fast as the slowest component, whatever that may be.

In case you're wondering, the device is backwards compatible with the USB 2.0 host.

The G3 can save or transfer data stored in Secure Digital, SDHC, SDXC, microSD, microSDHC, microSDXC and MSPD cards to and from their PCs.

And, like similar devices, the compact and ultraportable G3 does not need any external power source to operate. It retails for RM35 and comes with a two-year warranty and free technical support.
