PETALING JAYA: 2012 is turning out to be a great year for Canon Marketing Malaysia. The local marketing arm of the Japanese imaging and technology solutions provider has been recognised with several prestigious awards.
Canon was recently awarded gold and bronze medals for "Information Technology and Office & Business Equipment" and "Personal, Household & Outdoor Appliances" categories at the Putra Brand Awards 2012, respectively.
The Putra Brand Awards is the only brand award in the country endorsed by Matrade (Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation), where 6,000 Malaysian consumers vote for their most preferred brand.
Canon also took the Gold award in Asia and Platinum award in Malaysia at the Reader's Digest Trusted Brands Awards 2012, for the Consumer Electronics (Camera) category for the 12th consecutive year since 2000, indicating its strong presence in the Asian region.
It has also received six Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) Awards for 2012. TIPA is Europe's leading photo-imaging and press association; and this one of the most coveted photo and imaging awards worldwide.
Canon products won for Best DSLR Professional, Best Expert Compact Camera, Best Professional DSLR Lens, Best Multifunction Photo Printer, Best Video DSLR and Best Professional Video Camera.
