SONY says it's the first to launch a 4K projector for the home. The VPL-VW1000ES projector is capable of displaying four times the resolution of full HD (1080p) or 4,096 x 2,160-pixels, hence the term 4K.
Any content be it standard definition or HD can be upscaled to 4K resolution on-the-fly using the projector's Reality Creation function.
The projector offers home entertainment enthusiasts a stunning, more immersive and engaging visual experience than ever before, says Sony.
It projects images and videos at up to 200in in size, and has a brightness of 2,000 lumens. Also, its proprietary Iris3 technology allows the projector to achieve 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
The projector is also 3D-capable and comes with active shutter 3D glasses
It also features Picture Position Memory which remembers the positions of the lens (focus, zoom, shift) and these settings can be stored on the projector for easy recall later.
The VPL-VW1000ES uses the latest noise-reduction technology including a whisper-quiet fan to minimise projector sound as much as possible. Also, an automatic shutter ensures that the lens stays dust-free at all times.
The projector retails for RM74,999 and comes bundled with two 3D glasses.
