The NX big thing

NEW OFFERINGS: Samsung's (top to bottom) NX20, NX210 and NX1000 cameras.

SAMSUNG has introduced three new mirrorless cameras - the NX20, NX210 and NX1000.

The NX1000 is the series' entry-level model and it's designed to be compact and easy to use for beginners. It comes in three attractive colours: Black, white and pink.

The NX210, meanwhile, is clearly inspired by the looks of the rangefinder cameras. Designed to be gripped like a compact camera, the NX210 can be outfitted with accessories like an electronic viewfinder for that classic look and feel.

Samsung's flagship model for the NX series, the NX20, embodies the look of DSLR cameras although it has a relatively compact form factor and an ergonomic grip. It also has a built-in electronic viewfinder and high speed capture mode of up to 8fps (frames per second).

All three cameras have a 20.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor that promises to deliver vivid and high quality images even in low-light situations.

Each camera also has a 3in Super AMOLED display for framing and reviewing shots but only the NX20 has a swivel display.

All of the Samsung cameras also have built-in WiFi for sharing photos and videos with a touch of a button. Users will be able to upload their favourite shots to Facebook, Picasa and Photobucket directly from the cameras.

The cameras can also be linked to a smartphone or tablet using Samsung's Mobile Link app which allows users to remotely view and trigger the camera using their device. The app is available for both Android and iOS devices.

The cameras also feature 10 smart filters for candid shots as well as Panorama and 3D functions.

Also, the cameras can record 1080p full HD videos even when using the various smart filters.

The NX20 (RM3,499), NX210 (RM2,899) and NX1000 (RM2,499) are available in stores now.
