JULY was a pretty dry month for games but the dry spell is coming to an end.
August has a few hot titles that will appeal to fans of most genres.
Players can look forward to a new Super Mario game for the Nintendo 3DS and the sequel to Darksiders among other exciting titles.
Persona 4 Arena
JRPG (Japanese role-playing game) fans will get a kick out of this game as all their favourite characters from the popular Persona series will get to duke it out in a 2D arena.
Just like in the original game, characters will be able to call upon their Personas (powerful avatars) to assist them in battles.
Arena will feature a story mode and players can also go online to challenge other gamers.
The game is set to be an unforgettable brawler for fans of the series and it's headed to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 this week.

Developer 5th Cell's Xbox Live Arcade title Hybrid will be pulling out all the stops with a massive online multiplayer game that will feature intense air and ground combat.
Players will get to play two factions the Variant and Paladins - who are fighting for control over a resource known as dark matter.
The game will feature 10 different maps and modes as well as tons of weapons and abilities to spice up the battles.
Look out for this downloadable title this week.
ACTION-PACKED: Even Death will have to fight his way through hordes of monsters in Darksiders II.

The Horsemen of the Apocalypse are back. This time Death will have a map that's double the size of the original game to wreak havoc in.
Players will be able to customise Death's appearance as well access a vast array of devastating weapons and cool armours.
Also, as Death fights his way through hordes of monsters he will grow increasingly powerful and players will be able to upgrade his many abilities.
Watch out for the beginning of the end on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 on Aug 14.

Everyone's favourite plumber is back and this time in eye-popping 3D in the latest side-scrolling platform game for the Nintendo 3DS.
The game will feature nine worlds for players to explore and plenty of secret ones for hardcore Mario fans to discover.
Players will also be able to team up with a second player as Luigi to tackle the various challenges.
Rescue Princess Peach once again from the clutches of Bowser on the Nintendo 3DS on Aug 19.
