THE best way to understand the power of a visual business analytics solution is to experience it firsthand which is why SAS Institute Inc has launched a microsite where users can try out its Visual Analytics 6.1 features for themselves.
The site (www.sas.com/software/visual-analytics/demos/all-demos.html) comes complete with an array of demos for various industries from banking to utilities, as well as for various departments such as customer service to R&D.
The solution leverages on SAS' proprietary in-memory solution for exploring, examining and executing analytic calculations on large amount of data in just minutes or seconds, and presenting the results visually.
It also offers a self-service feature - users can drag-and-drop any combination of categories and an auto-charting feature will show the best possible visual based on what is given. This provides business executives with access to instant reports, enabling them to make quicker, better decisions.
Enterprises can gain key insights from vast amounts of data in an instant, said Queenie Wong, practice lead for information management and high-performance analytics for SAS Malaysia.
"They need to know what their data is telling so that they can get ahead of the curve," she said.
Visual Analytics is targeted at hyper-competitive industries like banking, insurance, retail, FMCG (fast moving consumer goods), telecommunications and manufacturing.
To make the solution more affordable for local small-and-medium enterprises, SAS Malaysia is looking to partner with system integrators and service providers to offer it as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). At the moment, the Visual Analytics is available directly from SAS as well as through its channel partners.
